Healthy Halloween Treats

Halloween is among us, the goblin and ghouls will be lurking about in just a few days! Traditionally, Halloween is full of SUGAR, candy apples, sweets, pops and more. Research has been coming out identify sugar to be detrimental to everyone’s health acutely and chronically. Here are a few tips on how we can make Halloween a bit healthier: 1.Opting for sugar free candies (suckers and gummies) they are pretty easy to find otherwise Amazon has everything. 2.Sugar free chocolate candies (Russel Stove Toffee bites are my absolute favorite) 3.70% cocoa chocolate covering yummy fruits like strawberries or apples. Walk for your treats – this may seem like a given but more and more you see kids who are being lugged behind in a wagon of some sort. Make walking fun so that your kids will move, or go a tiny bit earlier so the tiny humans don’t get too tired. If these aren’t possible, it is never too early to teach kinds to be healthy, maybe limit the candies to 1 or 2 a day! Have a Happy Healthy Halloween! Don’t take life too seriously, Meg
