How Our Actions Affect Others

How Will My Actions Affect Others?...(Your Decisions Do Not Happen In A Vacuum!) [Entrepreneurial Blog] - Business Entrepreneur Decision Making Startup Small Business

This is a very interesting concept that I don’t think we reflect on enough. If you think about it, everything we do affect another human being in one way or another. Whether it be positively or negatively. The same concept can be applied to health and wellness. There are three main things that come to mind when it comes to our actions affecting others:

  • As adults and or parents our habits affect the children in our lives. This means that if you habitually eat out at restaurant or fast-food chains, your child is more likely to acquire this same habit. Making healthy food choices and explaining to children that it is ok to treat yourself to a night out every once in a while, is important. If we normalize eating fast-food 3-4 times a week, why should we expect our children to make better decisions.
  • Stress affects our family even your pets. Whether you are great at bottling up your feeling, those who know you best can always tell when something is off. It is important that we handle stress in a healthy manner, whether that is through self-care, exercise or meditation because not only will it better your mood and mindset but it teaches those around you good coping mechanisms in stressful situations.
  • Last but probably the most important, because it influences everything in our lives, is values. Our own personal values affect those of the people around us in the sense that, if we value our friendships and family, we will make an effort to spend extra time with them. If we value our health and wellness you will make decisions based on whether it will positively or negatively affect your health.

As you can see the things, we choose to act on affect our friends, family and loved ones. This is why putting your best self forward is so important. Setting a good example and being the person people come to for advice is a highly rewarding feeling!

Be aware of how your actions affect those around you – love yourself as much as everyone else does!

Yours truly,

Meg
