Stress Management

Dealing with mental stress. This is the psychological response the body has when dealing with an individual's external environment. This is how your body processed information. Think of this in the sense of a break up. This is information that your body has to mentally process to elicit an emotional response.
Dealing with emotional stress. This is the kind of stress caused by experiencing something negative. This may cause anxiety as well as hormones or cardiovascular changes. This refers to a person's ability to express feelings based on the information processed from an event. Staying on the topic of break ups, the emotional stress is your body’s hormones changing, which may cause anxiety.
Dealing with physical stress. This is the physiological response to an external or internal stimuli exposed to your body. This can be negative or positive in the sense that exercising poses stress to the body but although you may be out of breath, tired and sweaty. Your body will thank you in the long run as it can improve your quality of life in many ways. Again, on the topic of a break up (mental stress), experiencing a flood of emotions (emotional stress), a physical stressor like exercise can actually help the body deal with and regulates the emotional response of anxiety by lower cortisol (stress) levels.
All this to say that people deal with their stress in many ways, but it is important to be aware of the stress that your body is under and take action if necessary to improve it’s status. For me I chose to deal with my stress by utilizing my support system of friends and family, self care and exercise. Exercise is definitely my go to because I am not the biggest fan of talking about emotions so what is better than going and smashing a great workout!
Choose HEALTHY ways to deal with your stress, this is not to say medication doesn’t work because it does for some people and that is absolutely great. For others it could be binge watching the Harry Potter movies, whatever it is for you keep note of the things that work best for you in dealing with each stress! You do not have to be anxious and stressed all the time :)
Yours truly,
Meg
