Exercise Withdrawals

The 9-Minute Strength Workout - Well Guides - The New York TimesYes, believe it or not, this is a thing! You could be going through exercise withdrawals and not even know it. Not participating in daily activity can severely affect your daily functioning. You can be sore, fatigued, without energy. More severe symptoms can be anxiety, depression, tension, guilt, loss of appetite, headaches, sleeplessness, etc.

Exercises work like a drug in the brain. The brain starts to rely on the stimulation of daily activity to keep up during the day. If I do not exercise in any way for 2 weeks straight, I will find myself moody, anxious and tired. The only way to fix this is with exercise.

Any exercise is effective! Start small, going for walks around the block everyday. Maybe doing a little bit of gentle yoga. Get your body moving, your body is meant to move.

Yours truly,

Meg
