Yoda your yoga is all about wisely choosing your yoga routine or exercises. When is the best time to practice yoga, what type of yoga, what poses? All the questions will be answered!
When it comes to the best time to practice yoga the answer is unique to each person. I chose to do yoga on my rest days as for me I still like to have a strength component but really targeting my flexibility and mobility! Normally for me this is a Wednesday or a Sunday evening!
Did you know there are different types of yoga?!? WHHHHATTTT? Vinyasa yoga is what I prefer to do on my rest days because it concentrates on the flow of breathing and fluidity of movement from one pose to another! If I am looking for a more physically challenging type of yoga I prefer Ashtanga.
As for the best poses, these are also unique to the person! Depending on where you have the least mobility and/or strength, this is where the concentration should lay! Here are a few examples, Warrior series (for the most part it is targeting the lower limbs), down dog (rotator cuff area as well as posterior/back of the lower limbs) - one of my favourites!, & pigeons (GREAT for tight hip flexors or to increase hip mobility!).
