Brain Boost

Image result for morning exerciseWhile in my last year of University, studying for finals, I found myself staying up late nights to study and waking up early to get everything I needed to get done in a day. I worked two jobs, went to school full time and did extracurriculars. Needless to say I WAS BUSY. This meant that I never felt fully rested and was constantly tired. Feeling tired and staring at a piece of paper was definitely not my favourite thing in the world. But obviously I survived it! Let me share with you how I made it through the day.

At first I thought energy drinks were going to be the only way to stay awake during the day. They helped for a while but they are not good for your health AT ALL haha. Then coffee, my beloved coffee, I will never get tired of the taste. This helped in the early mornings on my way to class. I knew that if I drank a coffee after 3pm this would affect my sleep (I would get deep sleep).

For late night study sessions coffee was not ideal. What I found actually worked better than coffee was exercise. If you are exercising properly you will end your session with an endorphin high! These are your FEEL GOOD HORMONES, giving you a major boost in energy. Fair warning - try not to exercise an hour before going to sleep, you probably won't sleep well.

Eventually I found what worked for me! COFFEE AND EXERCISE. My magic DUO! I finally found what worked for me :)  I would have a coffee in the morning on my way to the gym (as my pre workout). This kept me energized all day long and if I needed the little extra boost all it took was a 20 minute walk!

Yours truly,

Meg
