Health On The Go!


It is 2020 and technology ceases to amaze me! I was just speaking with a coworker not too long ago about apps on our phones and realized that I HAVE SOME GREAT APPS! For the most part I use 4 apps. 
  • MyFitnessPal - this one is pretty obvious. One of the top rated apps for food tracking! BUT did you know that you can connect MyFitnessPal to SEVERAL different devices (Fitbit, Apple Watch, Underarmour and more). Who am I kidding you probably did, I am not that teksavvy! I use this app to track my macro and to make sure that I am eating enough in a day to maintain my goals. I do not track year round, but occasionally if I have a stricter goal or haven't been feeling 100% lately, I track to see what i may be missing.
  • FitBit, I am currently in the process of BEGGING for an Apple Watch for my birthday so this may change. But in the meantime I use FitBit to track my workout, heart rate, steps and for some not so friendly competition… seriously one time I walked 30 000 steps in one day to beat someone in a step challenge. But this is a GREAT motivational tool and it really allows you to see where you are at currently and what you can work on!
  • HeadUp - I don't even know how I stumbled upon this one. But basically at the end of each day you input how you day went! Whether you were happy, sad, content; then it asks what kind of day it was (typical, sick, tragic, etc.). It tracks the trends that you are having and provides daily insights on your health! LOVE IT!
  • Water reminder - if you have a hard time remembering to drink water, you need this app. There is a free and paid version (I believe it is about $3.50). I paid the money to guilt myself into drinking more.
