What The Heck is DIM?

DIM Supplements: Benefits, Side Effects, and Dosage

I have recently been asked about the over the counter Indolplex supplement. I had no idea what this was although I felt like I had heard this term before. Through research I found exactly why I recognized it. It is because Indolplex supplement is commonly used a weight loss supplement and means of managing PMS symptoms (2018).

DIM also known as diindolylmethane is a chemical found in cruciferous vegetables, such as broccoli, brussel sprout, cabbage and cauliflower. The over the counter version of this is called Indolplex, manufactured to promote DIM to aid in estrogen metabolism. It reduces the ratio of potent estrogen in the body (2018).

The reason some people take this supplement is because it contains properties known to reduce risk of breast, uterine and colorecteral cancer. It can also help with premenstrual symptoms! Staying true to my beliefs, REAL FOOD FIRST ALWAYS!

For obvious reasons, ALWAYS speak to your doctor when taking supplements as they may interact with prescription medications!
