Choosing a High-Quality Vitamin Tips

Is it better to get vitamins from foods or supplements ...

Have you ever thought “I spend ridiculous amounts of money on vitamins and I don’t even know if they work”? I used to think this way! I have discovered a few tips and tricks that have helped me A LOT when it comes to picking the right vitamin. NO, it is not as simple as going to the drug store and buying a multivitamin because it has everything in it.

My first tip is do your research, look up the recommended daily dose (RDA). It is only a google search away. You would be surprised at the low dose of vitamins you get in a multivitamin (almost not enough to be worth it in most cases).

My second tip is to look for a vitamin that is third party tested. This is not required by law but makes the vitamin brand more reputable in my opinion. Having a third party tested vitamin means that you are making sure that you are getting what you pay for. It means that there is a standardized amount of each ingredient in each pill or gummy, there are no harmful contaminants and that the product have no undeclared ingredients.

Lastly, make sure you actually need the vitamin you are taking. A simple blood draw can tell you what vitamins you are deficient in or simply talk to your medical doctor! There is no sense in taking vitamin E if your body produces more than enough on its own! Don’t waste your money!

As always real food first!
