HIIT LISS

What is this novel concept, you speak of? Well HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training, I this is a great way to end a hard post workday workout! LISS on the other hand is Low Intensity Steady State, if you have a little extra time this is a great way to dewind and watch an episode of your favourite Netflix series while you walk on the treadmill.

Ps: Recently I chose to watch an episode of Botched Bodies, I got some pretty judgy looks, so pick your show carefully haha.

When I really want to sweat but don’t have a lot of time (almost all the time) HIIT is my go-to. But I also do LOVE LISS because let’s be honest it’s not as intense.

Example for 9 minute HIIT – 30 seconds of exercise 20 seconds rest. Repeat 4 times.
  • Romanian DeadLifts
  • Bulgarian Split Squat with a Jump
  • Renegade Row
  • Spiderman pushups
Example of LISS:
-       Treadmill walking at a high incline or
-       Stairmasters at moderate speed

I LOVE jumping exercises because not only does it raise my heart rate higher, it also adds a uses multiple muscles. It doesn’t have to be anything complicated; I try and keep it as simple as possible so that I cannot give myself an excuse not to haha.

Yours truly,

Meg
